The first annual Tri County Tech Foundation fundraiser was held in October 2016 at the Foster Ranch barn located near Ochelata. The gathering was attended by around 100 guests, and the TCT students and staff pulled together to make this event a wonderful success! Now…several “shout outs” of a job well done!! Scott Sutherland and his applied welding technology class, as well as Johnnie Parks and his construction technology class, offered brawn and technical craftsmanship in moving tables, bales of hay, and building a beverage serving table, as well as a custom firepit! The TCT marketing department hit a home run with their design work for the Event, and Susan Peterson applied her graphic skills in the creation of Steerin’ Student posters. Kim Breedlove put in many hours offering her creativity and design influence. Another “shout out” goes to Barbara Kane, one of our Foundation Board members, who allowed us to use she and her husband’s barn for the Event venue. Many others contributed volunteer man hours, for which Lisa Geresi and I are EXTREMELY thankful! Over $26,000 was raised for the Foundation through auction items, tickets, and general donations. Word is getting out about what the Foundation does and the reasoning behind it. As a result, generous folks are “investing in a brighter tomorrow” to assist qualified students in successfully completing their education!
