In February of 2018, Karen Leinen, who is the Community Relations Representative for ConocoPhillips, presented a $20,000 gift from ConocoPhillips as part of their General Grant program. COP has been faithful to support in-need students who attend Tri County Tech through their consistent generosity to the Tri County Tech Foundation. The Foundation offers aid in three areas: tuition, emergency assistance, and food bank items. Through an application process, students who qualify can receive aid to offset their tuition costs so they can attend TCT. Emergency assistance is another area the Foundation can help students break down barriers that may prevent them from completing their education. Sometimes a barrier comes in the form of needing funds to purchase eyeglasses to improve one’s vision or funds to repair a car tire so one has transportation to attend class. Another area the Foundation addresses is hunger. By attempting to eliminate hunger for a student, he or she is able to concentrate better in the classroom. We are very grateful for our partnership with COP. Their financial gifts have a tremendously positive and practical impact by facilitating TCT in producing a skilled and educated workforce for our community.
